How to create a gate center trellis section;

 

Simply build the center section of fence 4” smaller than the distance between the posts. Cap this section off with 2x4’s.

The gate will be about 1" smaller than the opening and the same height

as the fence. It is acceptable to make the gate shorter to allow

for extra ground clearance. Use the curve as shown or create a straight section.

 

Install a gate-wire which will keep the gate square from the swing

side of the gate to the upper hinge. This will keep the gate from sagging.

 

Install a headpiece or the curved headpiece to prevent the weight of the gate from causing the

post carrying weight from leaning.
