How
to Attach Wood Fence Rails
Once
you have decided where the fence clips are to be mounted for your fence
design, (GardenStructure.com Fence Designs all come with dimensions and
more detailed instructions), you fasten the clip to the post using (2)
Roofing Nails.
The rail gets trimmed to fit, (so
that it is not so tight that it pushes the post out of level), and
slides into the clips. Then you install 2 1 1/4" roofing nails to
secure the rail in the clip and then fasten the rail in place
permanently with a toenailed 3 1/4" spiral galvanized framing
nail on a good angle. Fence clips are made by numerous companies and
you can purchase at any lumber or building supply.
